Mary-Anne Bowring

Group MD

Mary-Anne Bowring has built the business to approximately £10Bn in assets under management. A Chartered Engineer and Chartered Surveyor, she advises across the full development lifecycle and leads the turnaround of underperforming assets. She is a recognised commentator in the living real estate sector, particularly on building safety and operational strategy. Mary-Anne has also developed a vertically integrated proptech platform that enables operational efficiency, lower cost bases and enhanced asset performance.

Ian Barber is Managing Director of UNA, responsible for the operational delivery of Build-to-Rent services, including leasing systems, application processing and client relationships.
With over 20 years’ experience in leasing and operational management, Ian ensures the smooth running of day-to-day operations while maintaining high service standards across portfolios. He plays a central role in aligning operational execution with client objectives and resident experience.

Sarah Steel is Head of Finance, responsible for financial oversight, reporting and performance monitoring across the portfolio. She leads the preparation of detailed financial packs, including profit and loss, balance sheets and operational reporting, ensuring transparency and accuracy for clients and stakeholders.

Elizabeth Whitehead

Head of Leasing & Marketing BTR

Elizabeth leads leasing, marketing, and compliance across the South Region BTR portfolio, driving occupancy, revenue, and operational efficiency — including transforming underperforming assets from 85% to 98% occupancy. She delivers data-driven marketing strategies, optimises operational costs, and ensures full regulatory compliance.
With over eight years’ experience in leasing, Elizabeth has managed teams of 50+ and led multiple estate agency branches across London. As Head of Lettings and Sales, she set up new offices, drove new business, built strong client relationships, and oversaw seamless onboarding processes.

Aqilah Azlan

ESG & Mobilisation Officer

Aqilah Azlan is Integration Lead, responsible for aligning systems, partnerships and operational processes across the platform. She supports the integration of services and technologies that enhance efficiency, enable data connectivity and improve overall delivery across the resident and investor experience.

Commercial Partnerships

Jasmine Esfandiarpour supports commercial partnerships and market intelligence across the business. She plays a key role in researching competitor activity, analysing market dynamics and contributing insights that inform leasing, positioning and operational strategy. Jasmine also supports engagement with partners across the Build-to-Rent ecosystem, helping to ensure UNA remains responsive to market trends and aligned with stakeholder needs.
