Located in the very midst of South London, Balham enjoys a particular atmosphere that is very enticing to both the inhabitants and the tourists. Balham is not just your regular neighbourhood, as it is very energetic and peaceful depending on what you choose to do. I will take you through the six main attractions of the neighbourhood to Balham by the end of which you will find out how each of these represents the unique character and the magic of the place.

Take a slow walk down Hildreth Street and get lost in the multitude of colours and shops that appear all over Balham. Balham's Hildreth Street, which houses various boutiques, specialty stores, and quaint cafes, is an exquisite shopping spot where one can get lost away from the city's hustle and bustle. Throw on some cool clothes that you've never seen anywhere else, grape artisanal homeware, and bask in the rich flavours of the breads from local bakeries. Whether you are on a treasure hunt or you prefer to be your own treat, Hildreth Street provides shoppers with special offers that will make them mourners.

Let's start with the gastronomic discovery at Bedford Hill, where you can find various coffee shops, restaurants, and food joints that feed your senses gregarious. Thus, you can go to a cosy family-owned kitchen cafe that has been simmering up avocado toast and bottomless mimosas. In addition, varieties of market foods and drinks are available in the local gastronomy such as Bedford Hill gastropubs that specialize in gourmet burgers and craft beers. The dining options are numerous and each place can satiate the taste of each individual. Enjoy different flavours of the globe, seasonal local cuisine and have a memorable dining moment in the core of Balham.

Relax and find your centre in the middle of Tooting Bec Common's peacefulness, a large green oasis in the neighbourhood of Balham. It spans over 200 acres to providing a vast area for various activities, like picnics, strolls along the promenade, and other related ones. Have a refreshing swim in the Tooting Bec Lido, go for a racket game, or idle away the leisure time by watching the breath-taking spheres of nature as you walk down the curved walkways and in between dense foliage in this park that is so dear to the locals.

Make a date with the vibrant arts in Balham by visiting The Bedford, a historical pub and live music venue that has been privileged to invite some of the top musical acts in the UK. The Bedford loves to be crowded with people listening to live acoustic sets or having a great time with bands they are just starting out if you like live music then The Bedford Club is one of the places you have to visit to see this amazing live music scene in Balham. Go in, relax with a beer, and catch some of the excitement of the top-Balham music location.

Embark on a wonderful journey through history by playing lawn bowls at Balham Bowls Club that is a modern take on the Victorian period back in time. One of the neighbourhood’s early entertainment venues was the club which adopted the joyful and lively spirit of the era. The club invites kids and families to have fun, offering the unique and pastime of retro games. Whether you are a bowler who has been playing lawn bowls for a long time or you are a beginner hoping to get fun with others at the venue, The Balham Bowls Club would provide a place where you can have relaxed and enjoyable games with family or friends.

Is the day over, the answer to it is The Exhibit, the establishment with the most amazing bar and restaurant in a lively area of the neighbourhood.
